butter LONDON beauties

Quite awhile ago now, I said my next post was going to feature this mani using butter LONDON's Posh Bird and Victoriana.  As you probably know (or can tell), they have the same micro silver flaky shimmer, but it is packed into two different creamy base colors.  Both of these shades came highly recommended by my dear blogger friend Essie (from the well-loved & defunct at the moment iHeartPrettyPolish).  Victoriana was one of my first BL purchases, along with Jack the Lad and Brown Sugar during Ulta's one day $10 BL sale. :)  I lucked out & found Posh Bird on another now dear blogger friend's Pinterest sale board.

Aren't they soooo beautiful?!  My friends were right; these are most definitely must-have butters - and not the stick kind you find in the dairy aisle. :)  I believe another blogger friend would classify this as part of her "the blogger made me do it" series. Hehe!

Victoriana is a dusty medium bluish leaning teal, and Posh Bird a dusty cool lilac greige.  I love the dustiness of these two!  I'm not entirely sure why, but soft & muted colors draw me in like a mosquito to a bug zapper.  And the fact that they're jam-packed with that silver shimmer makes them even more fascinating, lending an intense silver flash in some lights, and others, simply a cool metallic flecked effect.

Darn you, polish acne!

Two smooth and easy coats were used for both polishes, dry time was fairly slow but it seems to be that way for most of my polishes, so I'm starting to think it's just my chemistry or something?  Who knows!  But I'm getting thoroughly sick of having bubbles (aka polish acne) all the time if I don't wait an hour between coats.
And I am sort of wishing I hadn't tried to do the little flower on the accent nail thing... without having a set of nail art brushes, they just don't turn out well.  Pretty sure I used a bobby pin tip this time.

Thank you so much for taking a look at these beauties with me, and I hope if you don't have these already or have never experienced the magic that is butter LONDON, this post will encourage you to do so!  Then you too can say: the blogger made me do it! lol  ;)

  1. You are SO cryptic!! :D I'm glad I'm not the only one feeling helpless after reading you guys' stuff! I love my Victoriana as well, but I don't have Posh Bird. These two look great together! And I happen to like that little flower too. And I learned something about you today...I would have pegged you as a huge fan of bolds over the muteds. Keep us guessing. :P

    1. Cryptic?? How am I cryptic? Something must be wrong with my brain tonight because I read the first two sentences of your comment like 10 times and I still don't understand how they "fit." :-/ ...oy!
I'm glad we have another Victoriana lover in the house! See what you've done, Es?! hehe ;) I would definitely recommend that you get Posh Bird, given the opportunity. Thank you so much for your kind words about my wayward little flower! And I do like bold neons (remember my love affair with the ChG jellies from this summer, esp. Shell-O? I just also like the other end of the spectrum too, I guess. :) For instance, I almost always wear a creme after a glitterified mani, and a light after a dark, and vice versa. And if I eat something salty, then I have to have something sweet - and vice versa! LOL :P I know, I'm a fruitcake!!

    2. I was being facetious about being cryptic...you were telling exactly who had the Blogger Made Me Do It series whilst mysteriously leaving out the name... :P

    3. Ahhhh! LOL! :P I'm a bit of a moron... or moreso, severely lacking intuition. UGH. Yeah, sorry about that... I'm not sure why I didn't include your name? :-/ I can always edit it!
P.S. GREAT use of "facetious!" :D

    1. Hehe, you're welcome! But notice I didn't link to your blog like I did Claudia's sale board, and Melissa's post? I know you were kind of like, what the?! Why are my GFC numbers continuing to rise when I posted that I'm no longer blogging?! (for the time being) ;) Although I guess since you, Melissa, and Liesl are the only ones who read my 'lil blog, it wouldn't really matter if I HAD put in your link! LOL
I can't help but agree... "It's a PERFECT match!!" (sorry, Fiddler on the Roof line ;) Now I really want to buy Aston or see it in person because I believe it's a dusty peach version of them. *swoon
Forgot I was going to mention Aston in the post, actually.

    2. What? No, I didn't even think of it. I'm not too worried about people linking to my blog.

  3. Count in another gal reading your Blog though sadly lacking in the comment section :-S, however one of my goals is to make time to comment on posts of my lovely Blogger friends RE-GU-LARELY!!!! Me too, me too loves Victoriana, I never get tired of looking at this beauty!! About polish acne: what Base coat do you use? This might have an impact - maybe???? At least this is what a nasty one did to all my polishes - in case you have a source of Essence near you: Hardening Nail Base is awesome!!!! Belated Happy New Year, dear Emily xxx

    1. Oh do not worry about that at all! Sometimes it seems like a lot of work to leave a comment, and much to my chagrin, I have been quite remiss in commenting on your posts. :( That's something I want to resolve to do regularly as well! :)
I use a few different ones...Seche Rebuild, OPI Nail Envy, and most recently, Duri Rejuvacote. I also have Essie's Fill the Gap and some Sally Hansen in a pink bottle. Hmm I wonder if I've seen Essence at Ulta? I'm game to try about anything - to cure both my real acne and polish acne! hehe
Belated Happy New Year to you too, dear Christine!!! xxx :D

    2. You are too sweet!!! Thank you! I had the same issues by the way with Essie and Opi Base coats - I also saw that KBShimmer has a nail prep - now I have never tried it because there is a Limit as to how much time I want to invest but I thought I mention it here.... I am curious what solution you will find :-)

  4. Beautiful, Em! Your flower looks fantastic, freehand, paintbrush, whatevs, I couldn't do it half as nicely (trust me). I wouldn't have pegged you for a soft and muted, either. I think this officially puts your tastes all over the board, lol, but that's the way it is if you take your nail polish seriously, I think. Also, your Butter bottle shots ALL ROCK. Will you start taking mine for me? :D

    1. Awwww! You're TOO kind! :D Hmpf, I don't believe you though... you could totally do a flower, or whatever you set your mind to!
Yes, my tastes truly are all over the place. LOL What can I say, I LIKE EVERYTHING!!! Caveat: ChG Trendsetter & Nails Inc. whatever that ugly poo green/brown was you mentioned.
Again, awwwww! I can't believe you think my Butter bottle shots are rockin' :D Upon looking at these ones again, I do like the first and the last ones, but uhh the 2nd one...errrm, you can practically distinguish the model number on my camera lens! NOT cool!
